Average install time for a cabinet?

The reason i ask is the city i'm in has been picked by BT to install FTTC in every cabinet... now the www.nibroadband.com website lists every cabinet here in Derry to be completed by April 2011, there no work at any around my area yet....can they do over 100 cabinets in 2months?

the cabinets arrive complete, so with enough civils gangs you could put them down on plinths with ducts in a week. Then they have to be wired to the existing cab and have fibre connections to the exchange installed etc. Depends how many bodies with relevant skills are available.

From memory it took about 2 or 3 months around here but that also involved pulling fibre out for a few miles from the town centre where the exchange is.

orly - most of the outter cabinets in Derry are already done, as they gone done via that DETI project, so the majority left are relatively close to the exchange, i did email BT to ask if they ETA for al the cabinets were correct and they said that yeap they hope to have all of Derry setup for 30th April, will be good to see if they can keep to that

That was not for me.. that was my parents interested.

I'm happy with unlimited 20meg with no traffc management for £7.50 a month

I've told the mods a few times, but he's stil here and still being a nuisense, quite childish and stupid but oh well ignoring seems to be the best option for now.

I'm in lurgan, i've seen 2 cabinets installed here in the past week, and seen another one goin in this mornin when I was up the town centre.

They are moving very quickly and seem to manage to get a cabinet installed within a few hours.

Tbh, i've never seen them move so quickly installing anything here, nevermind in such a quantity.

Need we reiterate that the forums are not moderated by paid staff, and as such moderation may take 2 minutes or may take a day or more.

Post volume means that if you wanted fully moderated it would like other places where you were waiting 30 minutes for a post to appear after posting it.

it appears that two people have decided to engage it a little fight.
