Speed drops

[link to this post]

I know if the first 10 days of connection the speeds will drop to check what the connection can handle.

This morning I had a connection of 36MB but now its only 6. SHould i be rebooting the VDSL modem?

Does the PLusnet "Current Line Speed" update on Plusnet FTTC? That is the IP Profile and the only clue you get to connection speed.

Even the BT speed tester doesn't show your connection speed on FTTC. Just the profile and throughput.

Hopefully problem solved. Called PN Support and they said my profile was still stuck on the old ADSL setting and were going to override that, so will need to reboot modem and router.

6mb is certainly not ok, with an initial 36mb sync. Keep an eye on it and if its still down their raise a fault.

I note the 2Mbps upstream though. Elsewhere in the last few days I seem to remember the Plusnet trial is supposed to be 10Mbps upstream?

As usual Bob, you were right. I called Plusnet and the order had been put through incorrectly.

They have now reordered and the upload is now what it should be, 10Mbps at 1.04MB/s

Phew! I just ordered from PlusNet, under the basis that it wasn't bad pricing for a 10Mb upstream. I'm glad you got it sorted...
