Had a email from TalkTalk:
From May, we’re rolling out our Fibre Optic Boost across our network, which will provide you with high performance broadband and an even more reliable connection.
And as you’d expect from TalkTalk, it’s great value. Our Fibre Optic Broadband is just a £10 a month Boost with our Essentials or Plus packages. Also, as part of the £25 activation fee, we’ll send an engineer to get everything set up and make sure you’re connected

I wonder what their policy on P2P will be? No change I expect.

Well as someone who doesn't spank P2P, i'll be off like a shot should they ever introduce unshaped P2P traffic

Also does anyone if the TalkTalk fibre service will use TalkTalk's own equipment at the exchange? Kind of like 'Fibre LLU'?

It's after midday, so it doesn't count I'm afraid.
Nice try

They will be taking the uncontended feed from openreach and then backhauling on their own network, thus avoiding the WBC network which is what I presume you wanted to know
Whether it will be VULA or GEA at the exchange is more of a pricing issue, but in both cases would be Opal backhaul network.

Wouldn't it be nice if they could simply get above 1.1mb download here in Herne Bay?
Or am I asking too much?

I thought VULA would use the BTW MSAN, whereas GEA is straight from Openreach into the TT MSAN? If so, then I expected GEA to go back through Opal backhaul, but VULA through BTW backhaul but not the WBC system?
Or does VULA mean the BTW MSAN feeding the Opal backhaul somehow?

Thanks for the explanation Mr Saffron, now just got to wait until the year 2366 when my exchange in Scottish Highlands is FTTC'd
