finally got an install date for fttc.

woo hoo finally got an install date for bt option 3 with fibre, i had to email ian livingstone, who put me through to executive level complaints, and got me an install date ( 18th april ), roll on hte 18th

What are the estimated speeds? It will be interesting to compare with the actual. Don't forget to ask the engineer what they are, and the "approximate distance from cabinet". The JDSU gives those.

i will ask the distance + sync speed, i estimated the distance myself by road in the car and its 550 metre's, the cost is £25.60, i am having a new line installed too, so not sure if that will have any impact on my current connection which i will be keeping, oh my estimated speed is 14.3 according to btw.

Same as option 2 then.

Unless you're unlucky you should probably get a bit faster than the estimate.

well im hoping for quite a bit more than the estimate, i have measured the distance by car and its under 600 metres, but even if i do only get hte estimate it will be 3 times faster than what i have atm.

Data point for you - I'm 520m from the cab in a straight line, not sure how much longer the wire run is, estimate was 26.8Mbps down 5.6 up, synced at 39995/10000 without any problems.

Actual throughput rather lower at about 24Mbps, not had chance to think about that yet
