Hi there,
My Broadband provider has stated that I need a PPPoe router for FTTC and after checking the specs it appears compatible or am I missing something?
No, because the TD-W8960N is an ADSL2+ router, so it has a built in modem which you don't need/can't use. You need a router that does not have any ADSL modem built in, and is just a wireless router.
Just to confirm before getting too keen on such a good priced unit. Can it do No NAT and effectively no firewall as all I need is straight through to public ip on LAN as we have separate firewall with public ips set (/29) for different services.
Cheers

Not sure to be honest but to be fair if you want a decent router that can do this you need to stay away from the cheaper end of the market and go for another router.

I have moved from a Draytek 2800Vxx to a TP-LINK TD-W8960N and am more than happy to move from the expensive end to the cheap end. Just a shame it does not do IPv6. Apart from that it is a cracking router. Best £45 my other half has bought for me in a long time. Cost me £0. Now where is ebay to see if I can make a profit.
A bit of searching turned up TP-Link's own web instructions on how to configure one of the LAN ports as a WAN port and hence make FTTC a possibility..........
