Despite my exchange (Chorley, Lancs - LCCHO) being originally scheduled for 31st March I've never had any mention of FTTC (or a date!) when using any phone line checker, including the BT Wholesale one. If I searched using postcode it strangely said FTTC was available!
Anyway on checking (phone number) this morning it says:
Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 1st July 2011. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 30Mbps and upstream line speed of 7.2Mbps.
Nice of it to contradict itself!
The cabinet has been fitted, power done (or at least the road was dug, then filled in a week later) etc. Just haven't had time to walk up to it and "listen" to see if it's humming.
Would love you know when I should get my MAC from O2 - due to the length of my line currently I get ~4mbps on a good day with the wind behind me! Therefore want to sign up the second it's available. If anyone cares by the way Aquiss is my likely destination...

I noticed my result changed on Thursday (31st) - changed from 30th June to 6th April. So I phoned up yesterday and placed my order. BT have confirmed, they'll be coming on the 20th to drag me out of this 2mbps hell.

I'm next door to you in Leyland. What a surprise when the new list of exchanges was released today and there's Leyland with a ESD Date of July 2011! Nothing showing yet on the checker but wasn't exactly expecting it so soon. Looking forward to leaving the dark ages (1mb & 63.5db) and starting to snort 30mb

Good news, the CAB has went live today and I my order placed for 4th May!!!!
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 35.4Mbps and upstream line speed of 8.6Mbps.

I just checked the BT Wholesale line checker and mine has updated too. It has gone from 1st July to 20th April! Have just contacted O2 for my MAC so now to pick an ISP. Pretty sure I'm going with Aquiss - thought they had started charging a setup fee but it appears not. Still no date for BT dropping the FUP?

And now I feel like the butt of some huge great cosmic joke. Every cabinet that is going to be installed has been, according to a friendly Openreach engineer I cornered in the local exchange's car park, and guess what the installations stop one cab down the road from the one servicing my estate. Now come on, how on earth do these people decide which cabs to install to, the ones close to the centre of town with good ADSL2 speeds and Virgin Media fibre, or the large middle class estates on the edge of town with NO fibre and ADSL speeds which barely top 1mb.
Got hold of BT's CEO's email address as well as one for executive level support and blasted off a "polite" email in their direction. PO'd doesn't come close to how I feel about this

Well if it helps anybody I have a really good contact in Ian Livingston's Executive Level Complaints Dept. Turns out my cab will be upgraded, all it took was an internal email between departments and knowing who to email in the first place. I won't post the contact's email address on the boards but if anybody wants to know please PM me

I would definately, hoping my cabinet is likely to be included. Having been stuck on 500k -1mb service for several years on one of the outlying estates.
Hopefully Fossdale Moss is to be included!!
Thanks

The cab is now in situ as originally they put a smaller cab in by mistake. This has been changed and just waiting for this one to be powered up. Only 8 months behind but better late than never!
