New Virgin Customer

Hi, l'm a new Virgin customer and i had installation today. Two guys came in and installed everything but it wasnt working they stayed for like 30min and see but nothing actually happened. They change modem and rang their engineer or IT department. My broadband wasnt working and finally it was for liek an hour and then not working again. Im just thinking becuase ive seen they split my neighbour coax cable and add splitter and add my cable is that right or not ?
