But if you had to choose places to deliver a premium priced product to and hope to return a profit... where would you deliver to?

Quite a few in my town alone covered.

Plenty of council estates & flats etc have Sky TV full package. Whereas plenty of larger 5 / 6 bedroom houses have freeview.

so bt think that the richest area's are going to be the most lucrative for them,lol not true, most of the rich people are rich because they don't spent it, bt should be putting fiber in where it is most needed first, my area 2 smaller exchanges are going to be enabled where as the main exchange isn't bypassed by them, because the two exchanges serv affluent area's, & hardly any businesses no logic what so ever

Not sure it's relevant at exchange level, but at the cab. . . I'm probably in a less-affluent part of an affluent area, remote from the suburban exchange and the estate loop is decrepid, with few businesses; and the cab is apparently being enabled - but could that be anything to do with Openreach engineers living in the locality??? I'd be surprised if it isn't.

Thamesmead and Woolwich are both 'orrible and both enabled early on.

As I'm sure you're aware FTTC is deployed by exchange not by 'estate'. Can't think of many exchanges that only serve council estates.

Close to me is "an area of social deprivation" and that already have FTTC. It is predominantly from the cabinets on the edge of the estate which also serve some expensive houses (£1M +). There is also a reasonable level of take up - Broadband is more important than food and shoes for the kids!

its not premium priced tho, infinity barely costs more than 10mbit VM. To answer your question I would likely target poorer areas as they have a higher dependancy on the net and are more likely to be heavier users. It would also depend on how I am pricing it tho, but going by infintiy's price its certianly not a pricepoint out of range.

Looking at the replies here tho it does seem BT have done some poorer areas at least maybe so they dont look too obvious or could be in areas where lots of exchanges are covered?

I am particurly curious if not well off areas are picked in areas that have low fttc coverage. (less than 10 exchanges in county).

I bought the cheapest house on the market when I got where I am now - and my cabinet is allegedly now enabled.

No council estate though as it's out in the sticks, and people don't want free accommodation out of the cities.
