I'm a Virgin Media 50mb user and have been finding the service to be poor at best.
Unfortunately i am so far from my exchange that i'm lucky to get 2-3mb at best.
I'm connected to EMWILLO at DE217LZ but live right in the middle of a triangle of exchanges.
EMDRRBB at DE11JY and EMBREAD at DE215LL.
All 3 exchanges are on the list to be FTTC this year and a couple of months ago i noticed an openzone van messing around with a new pole that had been installed next to a green cabinet.
The pole is brown in colour and about the height of a street light. It expands out at the top with no other visable features. ( i would add photos if i nknew how to on here)
I did hear that BT were looking at trialing FTTC with some sort of wireless in areas that don't have a local cabinet.
I can't find any info on what this new pole might be and if there might be an end to my only option of VM's flakey 50mb service.
Cheers
Paul
