Fibre Cab Install - Should it affect non-fttc users?

[link to this post]

Just had a text from Mother - her landline is totally dead no dialtone or ADSL.

She's having her cab (PCP 160 on WWEXTR) FTTC'd at the moment, she's on Orange LLU right now so isn't getting FTTC herself but the cab appeared last week beside PCP 160.

Should installing the fibre cab affect the landlines routed through the concerned PCP? My understanding is it shouldn't.

Just told her to give it an hour or two then report the fault if not back up. Guess that's all she can do tongue

Does she have line rental with Orange? Could they be moving her back to 21CN/WLR on BT kit?

The set up is WLR with SMPF for LLU ADSL. Don't see why this would change.

She advised the ADSL has been intermittent as of late anyway so perhaps the FTTC cabs being installed has just upset the ancient ali crimps in her cab.

Wouldn't be the first, or even the second time, to be honest...

Orange appear to be slowly shifting their LLU customers back to BT-based services where possible.

Even though she has LLU currently, you may find that her line ends up on 21CN kit at some point.
