How old are they then?

I would guess the 60's or 70's looking at the design of the box. I guess one clue is to see if it's marked BT/Telecom (with the old T logo) or Post Office (P.O.) Telephones. I know the manhole cover in front of the one close to me is P.O. Telephones but the cab has no mark on it other than it's number.

Hmm, does knowing this much make me sad? Should we start up a new "cab spotter" instead of train spotter title?

Well I've collected 2 more this morning, walking the dog, plus an amusing telephone pole.

Cabs from GPO days were cast iron.

The cab you are talking about here, I would put at 70's - 80's, & is made of fibre glass.

Modern ones a pressed steel, & get nice rusty holes in them (load of rubbish).
