Wish my cabinet was worked on that fast!

My cabinet has been in for over 8 weeks, and they've only just dug the pavement up to install power cables... All the equipment and fibre is in, but it'll still be another 6+ weeks until it's RFS I reckon.

BT put £3million into my town to enable 100% cabinets before Sept 11, so they have been working pretty fast, cabinets are poppin up daily, and they usually go live within a week or 2 later.

I was connected to one of those tatty old GPO ones until a couple of weeks ago. It's just been re-shelled in preparation for FTTC. My ADSL connections didn't even drop during the change.

Unfortunately the council seem to have got the wrong end of the stick when Openreach applied for planning permission. They applied a restriction that the existing cabinet must be removed when the new fibre cabinet is installed frown

Another one that you don't have on your list. It's a GPO one smile

The cabinet and street furniture is a really great feature, is there plans for identifying ducting in the road/paths etc.

I would hope not, the foot and roadway boxes belong to Openreach, so you 'just having a quick look inside' would end up with damaged line plant, boxes left open/ajar, etc, etc.

Looks nearly like http://www.robertos.me.uk/html/bt_furniture_3.html but a slight difference in the lock between the doors
