I haven't seen this mentioned, but it seems to be available from 30 September 2010 according to the OR price list.

Ah - thanks!
Strange that I've never seen the existence of such a product mentioned by any ISP though, and no-one on these forums has ever said anything about it.

It was never made available from Openreach so no ISP's went with it

FTTC has always been 40/15 - with capping options at 2 and 10. No ISP (including BT) ever offered the 15 service.

@both
Strange that in the ribble-linked document Openreach say Existing customers will remain on the GEA-FTTC 40/15Mbit/s product variant which will be fully supported until alternative options become available.
With the arrival of new product options, Openreach will work closely with CPs and their customers to ensure a smooth transition away from the GEA-FTTC 40/15Mbit/s variant to an alternative suitable product variant. Surely they would just have said that the product was no longer available?
Not that it matters, as the replacement is "up to 20Mbps".

ISPs may have signed an agreement with BTO but never offered it to consumers ...

80Mb/20Mb availability soon, looking forward to it, hope IDNet will offer an upgrade option.

I thought I saw a news article on the 80/20 back in July but I was surprised that there wasn't much discussion on it. Will be interesting to see how VDSL scales when they start up-ing the limits.

The 80Meg uses more frequencies, so it is possible that people will see some uplift even if not syncing at the full 40Meg now.
Profile 17a rather than 8c I recall

80Mbps over a bit of old copper is something quite impressive!
I'm less then 100 meters away from the cab ... shame it's not being enabled.

... shame it's not being enabled.
Don't get confused, the 80/20 profile change will be happening and 100 metres from the cab will mean you'll be in the pound seats when it does.

Not if the cabinet is not FTTC enabled .

Openreach are not enabling the cabinet I and just over 400 other flats/town houses connect to. Stupid conservation area ball **** which is silly coz it's a new build.
Doesn't matter though as I have a plan if it really doesn't get enabled. Actually make that 2 plans, one is to move home.
