hes mine on bt option 3 with fibre. I was told I would only get 8meg as I'm 900 meters from the cab. so I was really happy with 26, its a shame my snr is it better so I could get the full 30 my lines capable of.

hi cottee..

'm no good with windows, if something needs configuring there.

do you have web access to the modem? how are connecting your pc to the modem?

Is your modem the sp06 version? or the sp10? and which firmware did you flash?

if you get stuck, flashing sp10 firmware into an original sp06 modem 'seems' to work without a problem..

if you are using sp06 then by default you only have shell access using ssh.

try the putty client for ssh. it is both a telnet and ssh client for windows..

http://www.puttyssh.org/

if you set putty to log its session output to file and email me or post that file here, i can take a look..

cheers

Do you know of any way to "edit/delete" the BT rule to avoid accidental selection once unlocked?
Yes James, that can be done.

Advanced --> Firewall --> Firewall Level: BT

Now choose Delete level and click on Select. smile

I got there in the end thanks for replying my stats are above but I posted without logging in by mistake, so alls good in the end shame I can't get the full 30 meg that my lines capable of but 26 is better than the 1.5 I've had for years. My lines capable of 13 up but bt won't budge on removing the 2 meg up speed.

Can anyone give me an idea of my attenuation? is there a formula of working it out from both paths? and my rough line distance from the cab?

stats here, I don't really understand the 2 different US and DS stats, my line is 350 meters to the cab by road so the true length may be closer to 400ish.

Hi Orly,
Tried again today and can get to the user interface for flashing the modem but the page times out and the modem does not reboot. Once this happens I have to start over again as 192.168.1.1 will not bring me back to the modem page. I am using the correct flash.

Any ideas

Have you set your NIC to the correct IP?

Having the same problem as NuttyMucker. I can flash the modem but after that no access. I believe I have the NIC set up correctly as to flash it in the first place?

I have tried with both SP06 and SP10.

Yep everything is set correctly. The first time I tried it I got onto the interface but all the fields were blank. I wasnt sure wether the flash had installed but went ahead to change the firewall setting to telnet the modem but it just hung. After that nothing and I tried 3 or 4 times reflashing but to no avail frown
