My estimate was 35/8. Tried Telnet, wasn't sure what I was looking at tbh.
Will look into it a bit closer this evening.

I was able to pull some additional info from SSH:

xdslcmd info --pbParams
xdslcmd: ADSL driver and PHY status

Used telnet and got these results. The second command for the graph timed me out.

Telnet

This is my interface after modem has not been rebooted in a few hours

Interface

The adsl checker stated 7.5Mb down and 0.5Mb up prior to getting the fibre installed with ADSL24 so I am very happy with my current speeds if only my upload could rise a wee bit more smile

As I said earlier I have disabled the QOS and my upload has risen about 200Kb so thats good. Unfortunately as I was having problems earlier getting into the intrface my ip profile has dropped slightly but hopefully in the next few days it should rise again.

If anyone would like to pass comment on the stats it would be appreciated.

I've just noticed your problem.

Your upstream SYNC is actually only 1232 kbps, hence why you are only seeing about 1Mb on throughput! It appears the BT IP profile at 2000k is actually just wrong, or set at the lowest it goes.

Knowing that, it actually appears your connection is running close to the max when you achieve 900-1000k upload.

Nice one NuttyMucker!

It would be interesting to plot some graphs using your connection data.

We can see that your connection has fallen back to using the U0 upstream frequency band. This band is normally reserved for long-distance use only. You also have just one Downstream band in use.. (D1) Is your home some distance from the cabinet?

If you would like those graphs, would you download the Putty telnet/ssh client [1] and configure it so that it logs the session to file..

Then log in to the Huawei using Putty and issue the following three* commands.
xdslcmd info --pbParams
xdslcmd info --linediag
xdslcmd info --Bits

If you email me the session log file from Putty, I will plot a set of graphs for you..

Cheers.

Thanks asbokid,

I will try and do that later tonight failing that tommorow. Yep it is a long line 1.3miles by road between house and cabinet frown My line is also connected through a sub cabinet about 150m from me. I am trying to rally the residents up here to try and lobby BT to install a fibre cab in the village but going no-where fast. Only part of the village here can get this and I had to fight with BT telling them that the stats they held were wrong and for once they listened and updated the adsl checker which meant I could order ( Original stats of 500Kb down and 100Kb up were wrong due to incomplete data on their database and guessing too long a line)
I have also been down the council route but here in NI the UKBD funding is held by DETI NI so they will dish the funds out but when contacting them all I get is no plans. At least though I have better than a lot of other people smile

When I ran the command --linediag it timed out but obviously I hadn't downloaded the putty client.

Cheers Nutty

Hi Nutty,

I believe that asbokid might also find the log file for 'xdslcmd info --Bits' very useful & could include that graph too.

Yep no probs. The laptop that I use to get the stats is being used at the mo so I will get these tomorrow and also hopefully my ip profile will have gone back up smile

Now it's possible to get into the modem, does this mean we can tweak the SNR margins like we could on ADSL?

G

BT Infinity for Business
5x Static IP and unlimited traffic
Down = 33.59 Mb/s
Up = 8.32 Mb/s
Ping = 12 ms

BOOM!!

You could try the usual broadcom SNR trick, with the new xdslcmd tool:

*USE WITH CAUTION*

xdslcmd configure --snr XX

XX being the percent of SNR to reduce by. E.g. XX = 50 means reduce the current target SNR by 50%. So if it was 6dB it would go to 3dB.

I confirm this works on my ADSL2+ line on the unlocked modem, can't test on a VDSL2 line yet.

Let me know.
