I hope the script is understandable to you, a Redmond OS user. If you need help, please let me know and I will see what I can do . . .

@Croftie -- Sorry but I am unable to download your zip file. The hosting site is proving to be uncooperative. frown

If you would like to do as Pauline has done and send me a PM with you e-mail address, I'll happily send you a copy of the current version of the script.

Sorry, I did try to find a direct link hoster. Zadeks link above looks much simpler, thanks both.

my attainable rate was 52mbs when I first got activated, but there has been a large decline in that due to lots of vdsl lines in my area, thus plenty of crosstalk.

my line is between 350 to 400 meters.

So it seems that cross talk is taking a chunk of people attainable rate and sync speeds.

Maybe, I'm reluctant to blame crosstalk because the drop occured overnight, during which there was downtime for several hours due to "network maintenance and upgrades" in my area. Since then the speed has returned and then gone back down again.

It's too much of a coincidence for my likeing, if it was crosstalk I would of thought the speed drop would be gradual and interleaving be applied first followed by a speed drop if necessary. Or is that not how it works?

Edit, also wouldn't the attainable UL speed drop aswell if it was crosstalk or are only the DL frequencys effected by crosstalk?

Cheers.

Thanks burakkucat.
I have been playing with the script & Cygwin all night & am just struggling a little with one section of it to get it to be compatible with a Windows 7 PC.

It's probably something really obvious that I will have to tweak, but I just can't see it yet.

Pauline.
