Since LAN1 has to be configured as a bridge connection (to provide the necessary connection to the internet) my assumption is that you must use LAN2 to access the HG612 web interface or telenet. I'm leaving LAN2 connected, I don't expect any problems from BT.

I'm using a Hub3 with the OR Modem and cant get it working. If anyone with a Hub3 has managed this, I would appreciate some advice on how it is set up.

I don't have a HH3 but the first thing I'd check would be the IP address and subnet for the hub, if it doesn't use 192.168.1.x then you'd likely have to change either the HH3 to 192.168.1.x or the OR modem to something in the range valid for the HH3 (make sure it doesn't conflict with other addresses on your network).

Most of it is around tone 1000 which I believe to be where the adsl frequencies are but I could be wrong.

Tone 1000 is in the middle of the upstream band and, at 4.3125MHz, well above the frequencies used by ADSL

Wish I had a spare modem to tinker with, not brave enough to mess with this one. There look to be a few potential options.

The hub rebooted itself at 11AM today, IP Profile has risen to 36288, modem and stats haven't changed from yesterday. Now got 35.5Mbps throughput, 1Mbps lower than last time it was this high but maybe it will be able to hold this time. I can post todays graph if you want to see it.

Just to add to what Al said. The cable setup is as before you flashed the modem only with an extra ethernet cable from LAN2 to a spare port on the router. With a HH2 I didn't need to do and config changes, I did unplug the LAN2 cable once and after pluging it back in I couldn't access the modem straight away, I had to wait a bit.

Well with my short new line im seeing MASSIVE drops in speed, last night was fine, come today

MY attainable rate has dropped from 48mb to 42 and my sync has dropped from a perfect 39999 for the past 5 months to 36, ping his doubled, my throughput has gone from a perfect 38 to 34.

NOT happy is an understatement, BT infinity = another [censored] DSL service, with investing billions you really think they would use a better service than the unreliable DSL service.

to be honest, I can't really see my speed coming back.

CRC=0 over a week sync

FEC= under 100 over a week sync

HEC = 0 over a week sync


Only reason this has happened IMO is someone was enabled today on my cab and the crosstalk has become to much. this is on a 350 meter line with 0.5cu copper.

How much more is this going to drop, Well I have told bt my modem is faulty and they are sending an techy out, I'm hopping he can help things and get my line profile reset.

Think I might have been over complicating things. I thought I had to change my NIC and router settings but in reality all I had to do was plug in another Ethernet cable from a spare port on the Hub3 to LAN2 on the OR Modem. Works perfectly.

Come today and my line is at 25mbit down 15 in 2 days.
