FTTC modem -Dog chewed power cable

Can anyone suggest anywhere to get a replacement psu for the BT supplied fttc modem?

My ISP has suggested taking the bits left behind by the puppy to Maplin to get a replacement as their only alternative course of action is apparently a BT engineer call out which would obviously be a waste of time and money.

The modem should have the power rating displayed somewhere, along with the brick. Maplin sell multi voltage units for about £20, IIRC.

Its a 10v, 0.7a power adapter IIRC

I have one in front of me - it's a Shenzhen Frecom Electronics Co Ltd FM120007-UK. I can't see that listed on the manufacturer's site so it could be a custom one, however this maplin one looks about right - not 100% sure about the DC plug size though.

With regards to the polarity of the output connector, the inner is +ve and the outer is -ve.

a few of the complete units (with power) turn up on ebay from time to time so you might get one cheap.

I have recently watched one sell for £66-00 . . . not that cheap!

The DC plug dimensions are 5.5mm (OD) x 2.1mm (ID) x 10mm (L), with the centre tip 12v positive.

The Huawei draws ~400mA so budget for a bit more.

I hope you've had the dog put down by now.
