BT Infinity and Intruder Alarms communications

Hi All,

My alarm system contacts me Via PSTN Digital technology if i was to switch to BT Infinity. ie. Fttc which i belive is IP protocols, i have been told that the Alarm System will not be able to send PSTN signal over the phone line, if this is the case what can i do to correct this problem.

Hi,

I don't know who supplies your alarm system but to the best of my knowledge any alarms should still work because the analogue voice call element still remains, voice and data are split out at the cabinet and your modem will use the voice path which is just how it always was, its only the data side that uses fibre.

So if its a modem or whatever it should still work fine

BT Redcare is compatible with BT Infinity. However you must let your alarmco know when it is being fitted as there will be a break in redcare continuity when it is being fitted.
