Hmm, my speed seems to have increased.

I've been on Infinity since early January and the maximum speed I've had on my line was around 27Mbps usually averaging around 25Mbps. However, over the past few days after doing a speed test I've noticed my speed seems to have increased to 37Mbps with a drop in upload down to just under 7Mbps whereas before I was getting just over 8. IP profile is 38399. Roughly about 400-600m from the cab. Would be interesting to know what made it go up.

So this is in preparation for the 80mb speed increase for next year? So basically I'm on a profile that reflects the 80mb service but just that the 80mb service isn't currently available? Would be interesting to know what my theoretical maximum would be.

Yep you can use the SP10 on any existing Openreach modem.

Ok, just flashed the modem with the SP06 firmware. Got it working. Having a look at the stats it seems my max attainable is around 45Mbps.Pretty far off from 80Mb. Anyway, I always wanted to know. Is there anyway to get BT to change you over to a cab that is closer to you? I'm guessing not but would be interesting to know whether it can be done or not.

Nope, because your copper line goes to a cabinet that is then connected to the FTTC cab you are on.
