Most of knottingley is 90% done also another street near by with new homes built around 4 years ago shows nothing on the BT checker also postcode is WF11 0LE

Yes, that post code is cab 2. It's in Part 2 of the two csv files. Not on the schedule at all. "Blanks = Not part of a phase / untargeted cabinet

Post the link to what you are looking at please .
The original spreadsheet appears to have been split into two, as it had too many rows. CSVs were created from those, that many of us have downloaded and imported into Excel.
Some kind soul created a multi-page single fusion document, and maybe they didn't include the exchange-only rows. That may be what you have.

Yes, that's the "kind soul" document I referred to.
It looks as though he has omitted lines that have the "blank" info. See the posts from burakkucat showing all the "commas" signifying empty cells, and my earlier post with the "Blank = ....", which is from the descriptive texts at the beginning of the raw csvs.

Bob,
As I don't use any Redmond based Company's software, I downloaded both parts, concatenated them, converted the line endings from DOS to Unix, stripped off the heading, sorted the entire file and then re-inserted the heading.
When I perform a look-up, I just grep the file for the item in question.

so it looks like no fibre broadband yet for me then
or do you think bt may update it later on
can you please give me a list of postcodes on cab no 2
to see how many homes are in the same boat .
If enough people are affected maybe bt may finish the job.
It worked back in 2003 to get broadband for knottingley
thanks again for your help

Morning All,
I managed to find my postcode on the December 2011 Part 2 where it appears as below.
LSCLPM,SOUTH CLAPHAM,SW178AJ,{LSCLPM}{M_A},1,100%,,,,
I believe this indicates our cabinet is not due for the Rollout however I am confused by our Cabinet ID. What does the M_A stand for?
|
|
|
|
Directly fed from the exchange. No cabinet in the line=no FTTC
|
|
|
|
In the cabinet id of "{M_A}", it seems that the "A" can be a letter of the alphabet - A, B, C, D etc have been seen. Everything seems to get the "M" label, but I haven't seen anyone say what this means yet.
I guess it might identify the MDF that the cable comes from, or the exchange manhole that it runs through. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the quick reply.
You can't have FTTC without the C!
We are about 1Km from the exchange with 3 cabinets fairly close to us 400m being the closest and the other two at 600m. Within 300m from us there are houses that are serviced by LSBAL that will be or are already getting FTTC.
The current connection can't really be described as terrible. I am currently connected to a VPN in the Czech Republic and getting around 3Mbps down but my other machines are getting around 5Mbps down with everything connected at the same time. Occasionally I do see the speeds going up to as much as 10Mbps down.
It's just frustrating having cabinets so close that are FTTC enabled!
I wish BT were a bit more forthcoming with their explanations.

hear hear!!
I don't know why they think the truth will hurt us.....
If anything, if btopenreach/bt had a list of where current work is going on, and where its due next, i know a lot of people that would start getting the sausages in for the nice openreach mans tea and sarnies

Heck I'd take a couple of days off work and be the tea boy if OR fitted out my line with FTTP...

Could someone help me to understand the ten fields for each record in December_2012_PCP
(1) SAU_ID - In my case NDRAM for Ramsgate in Kent OK
(2) Name Ramsgate OK
(3) Postcode CT118EG OK
(4) SAU_NODE_ID {NDRAM}{P17} That's the cabinet that I am on ?
(5) Exchange Only Flag 0 Here I am lost
(6) Percent Lines 100 Still lost
(7) Uplift 3.66 ???
(8) Phase 8a I presume this just indicates the order in which roll out will be done ?
(9) Deployed Yes ???
(10) FTTC or FTTP FTTC It will be fibre to the cabinet and not to premises.
Thanks in advance if you can enlighten me.

Yes.
Cab 17
Percent lines, the percentage of lines in that post code that are fed from that cabinet. 100 = all.
Exchange only flag 0 means this is a cabinet data line for this postcode. Flag 1 would be if the percent figure was less than 100, say 60, and there was another line somewhere for the same postcode with percent 40 and data for those. There could be more entries, so maybe 60 cab 17, 30 some other cab, 10 exchange.
Uplift 3.66 means multiply your current speed by 3.66 and that's about what you can expect.
Deployed Yes means it is planned to be done. These days it can also mean is done, but you would know if it was.
Yes, Phase 8a is just to do with the job sequencing. None of us have any ideas of dates.
Yes, in this case FTTC.
Edit - exchange flag is unclear above. It is only set to 1 on the data that is the feed from the exchange. If there is/are one or more cabs also serving the postcode, they will have flag = 0.

Thanks a lot . I am getting about 13 Mb/s download on my ADSL+ annexM so I work that out to be about "up to 47 M/bs". So now I will have to wait and see what I get when it becomes available to me, Thanks again.
