http://i43.tinypic.com/fn48et.jpg I have my doubts. The cabinets being done around here only take a day and you never see large rolls of cable. It's quite impressive really how quickly they install them. Leave for work in the morning and there's nothing there. Arrive home at night and the van has gone and there's a new cabinet. I'd also say that work being done now for June seems unlikely. They started here in late December for a March completion.

The openreach engineer said it was fibre roll out, they had just finished Penrith, he had worked on sunderland and parts of Lancashire.
According to the top guy in north west area for BT, they anticipate 80% of their cabs that are getting upgraded to be up and ready by mid june, with some ready in May.

Perhaps it just depends on the area. Maybe Carlisle has ducting issues that we don't. My brother lives in Carlisle (just off London Road) so he'll be pleased if they've started now.

This was on the corner of Wigton Road and Westrigg Road. A few weeks ago Openreach were also laying the black pipes (which the fibre is blown threw) up and down london road.
I have yet to see any new cabinets anywhere yet, i havent witnessed any further work at my cabinet since this photograph.
Kingstown by the way is *not* getting FTTC anytime soon.
