I checked the FTTC December list and cannot see our postcode NN11 8AL on the list for Daventry. Is this bad? I see new cabinets popping up all over town but ours doesn't even exist on the list.

I think samknows shows that for all towns / cities , e.g Banbury / Oxford.

OK great, hopefully that is the case and I can enjoy super fast broadband soon...

Sam knows just advises if the exchange is enabled for FTTC.

Middlemore is not on the FTTC list, BT are not doing that estate.
There was a BT document showing that Middlemore was to have FTTP (i.e fibre direct to the house) but no update whether this is still planned. (was originally Q3 2012, but the same doc also showed FTTC being done May 2011 and we both know that slipped to Jan 2012 .. so no idea how far the FTTP has slipped.

Oh that doesn't sound good at all. This estate has some of the slowest speeds in Daventry as well...

I swear the place is cursed for Broadband. When I first moved to Daventry (Lang Farm) 10 years ago, I had to have ISDN as the lines were all TPON or something? When they did finally get ADSL going it was slow, around 1.3 Mbps and even then it couldn't hold onto the connection well.
Then I moved to Middlemore and although faster at 3Mbps , Lang Farm now has FTTC enabled and ready to order...lol, a cruel twist of fate!

Ha!
I used to live on Lang Farm too!
Still own the property there, but rent that out and moved to Middlemore...
I had 4.5Mb ADSL there and now according to the BT checker its more like 26Mb
Perhaps I should move back... (not to mention more places to park and it would be closer to a school seeing as they are not building one on Middlemore any more).

One thing I didn't mention, was contact the local Middlemore councillor, Chris Long -
[email protected] he as a resident of Middlemore (pretty sure I read that somewhere - but don't take as gospel !) is aware of the speed issues. Northampton county council have £34M to spend on speeding up the broadband infrastructure within Northamptonshire, it won't cost that much to do our estate, Chris just needs enough people to support his request in getting some of that funding.
Its the only way its going to happen.

Thanks Tam, I will check that out. Maybe if we're lucky, both the broadband and parking will be improved in Middlemore soon.
