Is it working for anybody else?

It's working here, albeit giving terrible results- like 5Mbps down and 11Mbps up on an 80/20 FTTC line...
Tbb and speedtest.net both give normal results (~65-70Mbps down and 16Mbps up), so I'd guess that the BT tester is working but definitely not very well...

It doesn't seem to work with the latest Java update (7) for my 20CN connection using FF 3.6.27 but works OK with the previous Java (6).
I've removed the update and it still works OK with Java 6, aka Version 6 Update 31

Sounds just like the problem I have had for two weeks - but tried it an hour ago and it has been resolved! It needed escalating through BT faults.

I have had Java v7 since it came out (to the day, I'm sad like that) and have run speed tests with it many times before. Recently updated to Java 7 build 3 and did notice a Java applet being downloaded during the first test run today. Have a screen shot dated the end of January when Java 7b2 was installed. Java 7 was released last July.
So it isn't Java 7 as such, but something messed up in the applet version d/l today IMHO FWIW.

Dunno! Mine fails in the way I described when I go there from My Favourites, but works fine when I go to the same link from Google

Google is your friend.
In reality it is the next stage in Google's takeover of all the world's access to information. Only the Chinese have twigged it. Or maybe all the Goggle shareholdings can be traced back to there, as can all the BT kit that is running the speed test ....
And so on, and so on, ....
Or perhaps if you paste each link into Notepad on adjacent lines, and compare, there is a difference?

Or perhaps if you paste each link into Notepad on adjacent lines, and compare, there is a difference? Done! When I say "same" I mean identical. From Google: http://speedtester.bt.com/
From Favors: http://speedtester.bt.com/ Now that I paste them here, they both work.

Using your Favorites link:-
Download speedachieved during the test was - 31 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 12 Mbps-38.72 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 38.72 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 1.78Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 2 Mbps
(I hope it is the rotten wireless on the PN WNR1000 N150 that is giving the low downstream).

I didn't see your last line, it was off-screen.
It is possible you have somehow got some "non-printing" character in the Properties of the Favorites link. Something that used to happen a lot in the old days but rarely now. But still now and then.
If you highlight and delete it there, then replace with a "copied" one from your post, I reckon it will work.

Screwed up the typing there and in correcting it lost an important bit.
To highlight in Properties use double-click. Not marking.

Done all that repeatedly. Why wouldn't I?
Now, in the end, deleted orig Fav and stored new one. Now works fine . Will just have to remain an enigma.
