Just done a speed test and noticed that my speed has shot up!!! I think BT have turned on the 80/20 service for me I suspect that there is more to come from it yet too.
See Sig for latest test result
Loving this now.

Just done another test as I think the TB tester is quite conservative sometimes and got this result.

What was your previous speed?
It'd interesting to know the level of uplift you get. Guessing you weren't maxing out previously?

So have you sign up for 8020 trial? Do you work for BT? Why you got switched on? More information would be good?
No I am not on a trail as far as I am aware, No I don't work for BT, just ran a test today and that is what I found out. Not complaining though

Quite likely you've been put on the trial

Run a test at www.speedtester.bt.com and it'll tell you what your IP profile is. If it's above 38714 you're on the 80/20 product.
Isn't 38717 the max profile?

You are on the trial as per your request the other day. We placed the 80/20Mb service modify yesterday, apologies if this has not been updated in your ticket
Care to be on the trial also? I can modify your account to the 80/20 in 48hrs should you wish. Price remains the same for the trial.

How long after the trial should retail products be available?

You are correct Uno, I wasn't aware I had been put on it yet until James from ADSL 24 posted later in the thread. I had asked a few days ago but was not sure if it would happen or not. Glad it has though.

How widespread are the 80/20 profiles now then, most cabs by March/April?
Interesting, do I need to be on adsl 24 tho? I am with BT, if you can do that, it would be greeeeeaaaaatttt!
Thanks

Almost all cabs were on the 17a profile by last December, weren't they?
The stage 1 trial only had a few exchanges involved, but they've since expanded to all exchanges.
Correct, all have 17a by now (bar any individual DSLAM/cab issues)
Sorry, you would need to be with ADSL24 to be on the 80Mb/20Mb trials.

BT tend to run their trials with internal trialists.

Ah right, OR engineer I was talking to thought that the change over would complete by April, excellent!
All cabs are on the 17a yes. The engineer was most likely referring to the the uppingof the current 40meg cap to 80.
That's what the OR engineer told me, during the FTTC install (we've got ECI kit), would happening in the near future, that when the speeds would changed soonish. Also, he didn't expect any price changes...
