@Squirrel
@bgriffiths

Maybe something went wrong with the database import for your exchange. I'll have a look now.

EDIT: Yeah it looks like there are ~ 150,000 rows missing. (There are over 1.35 million in total.) Unluckily you both seem to have fallen into these missing ones. Gonna re-import now but it might take a while

Exchange: Crawley

Recorded Line Length: 4716m
Estimated Attenuation: 65dB

No fibre services are currently planned for this exchange.

Your speed estimate for fibre is:
Downstream: 40Mbps
Upstream: 10Mbps

Something not quite right there!

See my above post smile The fact that it gives a speed estimate confirms that it's the missing rows causing the problem

EDIT: Hold on a min, did you put your postcode in with a space in the middle or not?

I used a space, tried again without the space and the results are correct smile

I used a space in the postcode too so went back to try again. Sadly, OP has now reached his web limit from his hosting company frown

Ok, I fixed the problem with the space, shouldn't happen anymore even with a space. Hosting should be fixed again at 8.

That's better.

Exchange: Chandlers Ford

Recorded Line Length: 3295m
Estimated Attenuation: 45dB

You are connected to Cabinet 33 which is currently live and accepting orders for FTTC

Your speed estimate for fibre is:
Downstream: 40Mbps
Upstream: 10Mbps

In reply to a post by madnutter56:
I was quite surprised while I was researching fibre availability at the lack of a tool that can analyse the leaked cabinet documents and bring into the equation data from other tools such as the BTw checker.

To address this, I've been working on a little site which does exactly that. However as there are so many combinations of different numbers of cabinets, exchange only lines and so on, testing every combination myself is difficult. So I'd appreciate any feedback and screenshots of combinations that don't work or give incorrect data.

Is this tool useful? And also are BT likely to get mad about a tool like this? (I'm not planning on doing anything with it other than it being a tool to help people)

Site here: here.

P.S: I don't think it will work fully for full LLU lines as they don't show up on the checker do they?

P.P.S: There's no fancy GUI yet (and there may not ever be). And I'm not storing any data you enter. If you want proof you can see the source code smile

Thanks smile

spaces still causing problems
"abc def" -> "abc ef"
and bandwidth full again ;-(

where does the estimated length and attenuation come from?
