Hi,

I live in the same area, supplied by either cabinet P19 or P20. The availability checker say's FTTC is not available.

There's a new green box next to P20 so I assume this cab has been upgraded. P19 does not appear to have been upgraded yet and is not listed as having a delivery phase according to http://www.coolwebhome.co.uk/fibre/checker.php which I understand is using data from over 12 months ago.

I've emailed Openreach and got an out of office reply.

Does anyone have any up-to date information on either of these cabs? I'd hate to be stuck on 2 megs forever...

Or can anyone confirm that they have working FTTC on cab P20? Which would point to me being served by P19 and in for a long wait!

Thank you,
Andy.

Andy,

Cab 20 is live:

For Address STREET SIDE DSLAM CAB NMBQUZ, ACRE ROAD, LEEDS, LS10 4EW on Exchange HUNSLET

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 80 Mbps and upstream line speed of 20 Mbps.

However I also have good news - cabinet 19 is being upgraded as part of the infill programme and should be ready by March 2013, although the availability checker hasn't been updated yet.

STREET SIDE DSLAM CAB NAAQTF, MIDDLETON PARK AVENUE, LEEDS, LS10 4HY

This is phase 10b, so don't worry, coming soon!

Thanks Ignitionnet,

So there is hope! I thought as cab 19 is on a main street it would have been easy to upgrade and done sooner rather than later? I wonder how they pick the upgrade order?

Many thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,

I'm actually Carl from the Fibre For Middleton campaign, you may have mailed us at some point!

They did the easiest / most profitable ones first, then the criteria changed to allow the not so low hanging fruit to be done.

The area I've been campaigning for had just one cabinet out of 9 done in the first wave, there are another 3 scheduled for this March 2013 infill.

Not that i've moved and no longer need the cabinet upgraded, it has been announced that the cabinet and ducting for the cabinet are now to begin: http://outsizefiles.leeds.gov.uk/streetworks/SymSWRD...

Unlucky. My cab, 19 has been upgraded but no sign of the second fibre cabinet. Have to see what March brings.

Oddly, this checker (based on address):
http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/pls/adsl/ADSLChecker.Ad...
Reports FTTC is now available, whilst the number checker does not.
https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html

I know which I believe.

Happy days!

Fibre cabinet for cab 19 installed outside 77 Throstle Lane (very, very close to their wall, not sure they're so happy..) and according to http://outsizefiles.leeds.gov.uk/streetworks/SymSWRD... it might get power on the 11th of Feb.

Going from 2.5meg to ~ 80 would be awesome. smile
