Tottenham Exchange but Corby Cab?????

Hi there

Have just moved to a new build in Tottenham and my flat has a BT Infinity branded phone socket so I was surprised not to be able to get BTI especially as Tottenham exchange is FTTC ready according to all the available info.

I checked the Cab checker from a link provided previously and according to that my postcode is based in Corby (which is in the midlands afaik). Could this be the same info BT are using?

Any advice?

As far as I am aware there is no such thing as "an infinity branded phone socket"!

Infinitity is a retail product sold by BT Retail. The BT equipment installed in the customer's premises is by BT Openreach and could not be branded "Infinity".

Have you tried the official BT checker? What does that say?

If you have looked in the spreadsheet - did you format the post code without any spaces? Is there a duplicate?

Any chance of a picture of the socket?

My phone socket is definitely branded by BT something but I'm at work so can't check.

BT website says BTI not available but Samknows says Tottenham is live for FTTC. Granted it might not be all the Cabs.

I didnt look at the spreadsheet I used this link: http://fttc-check.alc.im/ and the consensus was this was using spreadsheet data.

My Postcode is N17 9FF is someone can check the real spreadsheet or send me a linky. If it helps Royal Mail had fubared this postcode and it shows in the wrong place in Tottenham on sat navs and google maps.

Any help would be appreciated, if BT have made a mistake who would I see about sorting all this out?

Corby is NN17 - Searching for N17 is probably matching that.

BT branding is very different from BT Infinity branding.

A photo and we will ID the socket, nothing I can see for that postcode in the spreadsheet. and google puts in you in Tottenham

Thanks for checking, Google Maps does put us in Tottenham but the wrong part.

Incidentally I used to work for Freeserve Tech Support back in the day and we used to use ADSL Guide all the time. Your name was a blast from the past.

I'll get a photo of the socket tonight but the more I think about it the more I feel I've dropped a bollock, I reckon it must be BT Openreach. I've seen some sockets online and do they all need that extra socket on top for FTTC?

For my sins I was unlucky enough to spend the first 20 odd years of my life in Corby, which is, as you guessed in the East Midlands

The Corby postcodes start NN17 rather than N17 so probably just a typo somewhere in the spreadsheet

Nope. Just the Excel, (or equivalent), search that was used isn't using whole words. (Match entire cell contents).
