have ordered fibre from talktalk due to be installed this fri but when I have been to have a look at my cabinet there is no sound coming from it at all ?

With the weather as it is there's little need for fans to be running to cool the equipment inside down smile

There won't be any sound from cabinet 48. It will be from the FTTC cabinet nearby, (normally within 50m but can be further), and even then you need your ear close to the vents.

Like your PC / laptop at home the fans speed up and slow down as needed. In this weather they really aren't needed smile

Thanks to my latest technology hearing aids (switched to "T" position) as I can hear very loud high pitch sound on the FTTC cabinet but the normal PCP cabinet is no pitch sound.
