FYI, those are cable cabinets, not BT/Openreach cabinets

If that cabinet is the same as the one numbered 503343, then it is not a BT cabinet.

VM cabinets have that sort of number. There are only a couple or so of BT ones in the country of 4 digits. All others are lower.

Your first link is definitely VM.

just received this email back of [email protected]

Thank you for your enquiry. You are connected to the Aintree Exchange, cabinet 48.

Our systems indicate that work is ongoing with the deployment of your cabinet and, if all goes to plan, we are hopeful the cabinet will be ready for service towards the end of July 2013, barring any complications.

so it looks like i will be able to get fttc soon i hope so .what are the odds do you guys
think that i will be able to order in july? or is this date likely to be put back

How long is a piece of string?

It's more likely than not that it'll be ready by July.

With the weather as it is there's little need for fans to be running to cool the equipment inside down smile

There won't be any sound from cabinet 48. It will be from the FTTC cabinet nearby, (normally within 50m but can be further), and even then you need your ear close to the vents.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Like your PC / laptop at home the fans speed up and slow down as needed. In this weather they really aren't needed smile

Thanks to my latest technology hearing aids (switched to "T" position) as I can hear very loud high pitch sound on the FTTC cabinet but the normal PCP cabinet is no pitch sound.

Must be your age RobertoS. Anyone under 40 has a socket installed at birth for one of them to plug into - saves money later in life wink
