Is this a fibre cabinet or part of the exchange?

Hi there,

I did post on another thread but after hunting down my cabinet and finding a newer one next to it I wonder if those that know can help me?

Is this a fibre cabinet that's part of p13 in Polegate?

Both cabinets

New cabinet alone

Old cabinet alone

My postcode is BN26 6AH and I got told by a sales person at BT 1 hour ago that I won't get fibre until after September but seeing this makes me wonder..

Looks like an ECI FTTC cabinet to me.

Roberto has a set of pictures of most cabs available but I don't have the link.

Polegate is already enabled so as soon as the Cab is complete and powered it will go live.

Use your telephone number to check on the Whoesale Line checker and it will give you a date shortly before the go live date. Any date in advance of this will be in 3 month batches so Sep means between June and Sep.

If the number on the old cabinet is 13, you're in luck.

I have to agree as well because that's the type of cab I'm connected to and I've got the ECI modem to prove it.

September may be a reasonable timescale. You can spook the neighbours some more by listening to the cabinet to see if you can here it humming faintly. If it is then the kit is installed and turned on.

Otherwise it is possible it is currently an empty shell.

I will go snooping this evening to see if its on. There is a bunch of work been done on the ground as some of the tarmac is fresh. Suggesting something has been installed?

The only 'problem' with the ECI modem is that there is currently no simple hack to get your line stats out of it.

My cabinet has been humming since April but only went live last week! (duct blockage issues preventing fibre you see - no idea why they left it switched on in the meantime though....)

You are served by cab 13. So ....

It's the old one has the number, not the new one.
