All,
BT are due to start a 11,000 home FTTP deployment in Milton Keynes. I'm of the understanding this has either been totally or partially cancelled and deferred to sometime in 2013.
Does anyone have any more information on this?
----
EMAIL FROM BT.
Mr xx,
Thank you for your enquiry about fibre broadband in the Bradwell Abbey exchange area.
Unfortunately we are experiencing engineering problems deploying fibre broadband in several areas of Bradwell Abbey.
This includes your cabinet area, SM/BAxx. However, we are tackling these and we are expecting to deploy your cabinet area with an indicative date of March 2013.
I apologise for this delay and I realise it must be frustrating not receiving fibre broadband when areas close to yourself are able.
Regards

MK seems to have some serious special attention of BT in the past 5 years or so.

FTTP roll-outs are not as simple as ABC, so can be subject to delays.
From your email sounds like you have all the information that they are likely to make public. There are people in Milton Keynes with FTTP, and other areas still waiting for it to be fully active

That's because there is no competition because there is no Virgin cable. The area also has some serious problems with line length. Lots of straight lines make phone lines rather long!
There efforts are a bit half arsed.

Milton Keynes... If it was possible for a place to look like a shreddie from space then this would be it.

Half arsed, because only half way through the deployments, and still 3 years till the 2015 council/gov deadlines

There are also people in MK that cannot get above a 1MB connection. We have friends who live a mile away and are too far away from teh exchange to get anything close to a decent connection.

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation
