I'm currently with sky and have the full package except movies, have been a customer for about 13 years. Haven't got broadband with them currently but do you think they'll give me a good deal on the broadband / phone line? Or will it still be cheaper to go with BT (Would rather sky since i've heard better things about their fibre service)

Use the address checker

http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.Addres...

Put your address in there and it will tell you what you can get. but I dont think you'll get any better than what Allpay have to offer with BT.

Cabs Taking Orders

[re: zyborg47] [link to this post]

I've found about 10 cabs taking orders so far. all marked on the map

http://www.tinyurl.com/hereford-fttc

This is not exhaustive or particularly methodical, but based on spot checks it looks like the cabs taking orders roughly equates to the first cabs installed.

The fact I've found 10 should in no way be used to perpetuate the myth that 10 cabs are required to put an exchange live. That just happens to be where I stopped checking, it's time consuming, there will be more no doubt;

Interesting... think they'll all start going live over the next couple of days in a similar order to when they were installed?

Also that seems to map out with what I've tried. I've tested a few of my old addresses all in the north and all not switched on yet

well after a few phone calls to Sky and being told I absolutely can't get fibre I have just received an email with confirmation of my order, says about 10 to 15 days....

We'll see.

i still got 22 months on my all pay contract, so i will be staying with All pay, going to update to 10 megabits as 35 is not available in the city, it will come at some point I think.

With BT putting their line rental up next year maybe I made the right choice. Not really bothered about FTTC to be honest, if I was then I would have waited, getting away from Bt network is a big advantage.
