Sky Fibre not available by number but is by postcode

been in fttc area for over a year currently on 80/20 product getting full sync when i check to see if sky fttc is available by number its say no but shows available by postcode ?? what gives

Your cabinet for your line may not be upgraded yet - but other cabinets in that post code area have been.

He's got 80/20 so it must be available

I'd guess sky's checker isn't handling the existing FTTC connection correctly. If you call up they should be able to sort this out.

Have a read of my thread in the sky forum to see what kind of deals sky are giving customers at the moment. Free install and monthly discounts etc.

So who is your current FTTC provider - is assume it isnt SKY?

Just because FTTC is available in an area doesnt mean that SKY offer it - they may have capacity issues in the exchange and things get complicated if the FTTC is supplied from a different exchange to the voice - this is quite common and the SKY approach of insisting on taking their unbundled line rental with BB means that FTTC requires an MSAN slot in both exchanges.

Missed that!

It could be because Sky fibre is as kind of LLU and they ask a BT database which doesn't respond correctly for LLU lines.

I got free install today when I ordered

when you ordered pro, was this through the web site or phone?

I'm pretty certain Sky do not yet do FTTC >> FTTC migrations.

You have to migrate to their LLU ADSL2+ then upgrade .

Edit - That's as long as they have upgraded their MSAN(s)for GEA at the relevant exchange.

Are you sure on that?

I thought they would do WLR line provision in that situation. I could be wrong.

Unlimited Pro can only be ordered by phone at the moment.

Ring them. The website seems a little out of touch at times.
