from this site fttc should be enabled
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/ESGAL
From this site with my postcode td1 2ds they should be accepting orders, this has been the case for about 3 weeks
http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/
But i still can not place an order, when going to any of the websites bt talk talk plusnet it says it is not available yet but i know of BT customers in my area who are being called by BT and having it installed, quite a few are live........
So my question is why are BT able to supply their own customers with fibre but nobody else can order it?

FTTC is enabled by cabinets, not by exchanges.
The cabinet covering your postcode has not been enabled yet.
Doesn't matter who your ISP is, in your postcode no-one gets it.

Thanks, i am pretty sure my cabinet is enabled as they changed it a while ago, how do i find out for sure if my cabinet is enabled?

If you're on a BT line, put your telephone number into this checker and see what it says.

They don't change the cabinet. They add one, usually within 50 metres. See this page.
It's possible your cabinet has been re-skinned, to add room for the kit to link the two cabinets. Was your cabinet one of the old ones on this page, replaced by the one in the middle of the top row?
The three types of FTTC cabinet are on that page. Two Huawei and one ECI.

If that checker does not mention fibre then the cabinet is not enabled.
You need two cabinets, the one with the phone lines and the one with the VDSL kit in it. The VDSL one is identifed by some grill slots to allow airflow

Yep they moved it, there used to be a green cabinet at the bottom of the road which disappeared and i now reckon i must be connected to a new massive green cabinet must be 15 foot by 15 foot, which has been installed with a building project for 1000 houses near by.

Well i just put in a few shop phone numbers into that checker, one is about 50 yards away from the exchange and it says they can not get it and no mention of fibre.
What a joke BT are this just reminds me why i left them and vowed never to deal with them again!

Given coverage is around the 40% of UK premises then it should be no surprise to find lots of gaps in coverage
50 yards from the exchange it is very likely that they will not get FTTC, as there will be no cabinet between the exchange and them, and should already get 20 Meg or so from ADSL2+
