Hi,
Well I just got mailed this from superfast.co.uk
Just have a question that others here will know. When this launches will I be able to instantly get Sky fibre.
Also, on average how long after an announcement like this do these things take to get installed? There website says 2013 but how reliable actually is that date ?
Thanks for telling us that you're interested in superfast fibre broadband.
We're really pleased to let you know that your local exchange, RYE, has been added to our rollout plans.
You can get more details about the current status of the RYE exchange, and find out when superfast fibre broadband will be available, using our new interactive map at www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when.

Rye was only announced in September, so has a very vague date of some point during 2013 at this time.
On the where and when list you can get more excited when it moves into the coming soon list. Even once the exchange is accepting orders there is no guarantee that your specific street cabinet will receive the service.
If Sky LLU is available at the exchange, then the Sky Fibre service should be available, but it is so far away that there is no telling what changes will happen in the marketplace between now and then.

Hey,
I was able to lay my hands on some council documents after lots of searching. I have uploaded them to my own webserver. They have very detailed photo's and a really nice layout of each of the PCP sites each document also shows the proposed DSLAM type.
PCP 1 - Site Plan - Photos - Info
BT request to council - PCP 6 - Site Plan - Photos - Info
PCP 6 - Site Plan - Photos - Info
PCP 9 - Site Plan - Photos - Info
Pretty sure I am on 9
PCP 10 - Site Plan - Photos - Info

How did you find them ?
Quite easily, here http://ocellaweb.rother.gov.uk/portal/page/portal/ro...
Seems PCP 9 had previously been refused, although I must admit it's first location was ridiculous.
Perhaps not quite so easily, as I couldn't seem to find the applications listed in the post above on there.

Interesting, I did not see the refusal.
When searching I took words from the address "ocellaweb rother rye PCP 9 #" and went 1 through 10

It would seem that searching here with MORRISON UTILITY SERVICES as the agent turns up 9 results, but still not the new one for PCP 9.
Seems you need to use OPENREACH or BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS PLC as the applicant for other results.
The application for PCP 10 has been withdrawn.

So I'm a little confused as to what cabinet I am on. If i use the address and postcode checker I does not mention which cabinet I am on... However if I use my LLU Sky landline number (which used to be BT) it says cabinet 1. My question is how reliable is this?

Have you tried any neighbours numbers or nearby business?

Hey Ronski,
Given that the app for PCP9 was only made on 4/2/2013 and that all of the other PCP sites are now listed on roadworks to be worked on this week...
Does that mean that because PCP9 was originally denied that it will be upgraded later than the rest?
I see no entries for PCP9 in rye on roadworks.org even in the planned section :/
Any thoughts on this anyone?

Normal planning approval can take up to 8 weeks, it can be done quicker, and I don;t know about cabinet planning permissions - may be different. They will (should) not commence any work until they are given approval.

I did email the nga address and just waiting for a reply now. Still not seen anything more on PCP 9, not even any planned roadworks for it.

Just got this reply from the NGA address:
Dear Mr X,
Thank you for your enquiry about fibre broadband. Your cabinet is still in the build stage and we are currently predicting that it will go live to accept orders in Early July 13.

Hey,
Just noticed these on roadworks.org
Is this the power being connected up thats shown in the quotes below? I see no mention of PCP 9 which I'm on but I think its already been done.
The samknows / superfast-openreach websites show fibre activation on the 1/09/2013 however the wholesale checker shows March 2014
BTs own infinity checker shows between October 2013 and March 2014
So any guesses as to which date might be correct? Samknows only recently updated to a September date.
Also could the November date just be a holding date while they get permission from the council?

Probably none of the dates are correct. Of the notices quoted the first two are power connections, the second one being to PCP9, and the third is just clearing ducts.
On the dates mentioned check the cabinets for works, often the works don't go ahead and get rescheduled.
