Also to add the phases happen at different times across the country as certain areas the deployment is either ahead or behind, just have to keep any eye on your cabinet- roadworks.org if it covers your area can be setup to email you when work is planned.
Information for my cabinet from Openreach on 11th October:
This exchange is scheduled for deployment in Phase 9b which is Q4 2013/66, the cabinet in question is current planned as FTTC.
Please be aware that the engineering required to commission a Fibre Broadband cabinet is often complex and should conditions on the ground change, there is a small risk that the delivery date may be effected.
Please track the date for commissioning through the line checker of your chosen service provider.
My understanding is that the phase numbering only relates to where the exchange is *announced*, and not necessarily to when cabinet installation starts or ends.
In some of the announcements over the last year, some of the exchanges were placed into the "coming soon" list with dates within 3 months, while some were 9 months away. Others went into the "future exchanges" list with dates only listed as "2013".
That means that there are some exchanges in later announcements (ie later phase numbers) that are getting installed up to 18 months earlier than other exchanges in earlier announcements (ie earlier phase numbers).
This has been true since the times of phase 5 or 6. Before that, things went in more of an order.
