Can anyone advise if cabinet 51 on Wrexham exchange will be included in the FTTC rollout ? BT Openreach are very active in the area with new FTTC cabinets springing up all around, but this one has no activity yet. The December 2011 spreadsheet did not include it, but it did not include Cab 59 either and that has been installed (but not commissioned yet).
Wrexham exchange has a BT availability of December 2012 so I accept there is still time but it would be nice to know if we are to be included.
Thanks MW

I think cab 51 is on the corner of Norfolk road and borras park road, walk down down and have a gander if the fttc cab is there

You can contact openereach via this email, add your phone number and address as they will ask for this, it will take between 5-10 days for them to respond due to the amount they recieve.
[email protected]
Openreach will say if you cabinet is planned to be enabled in the commerical rollout- the December 31st date is a holding date, the next one is the 31st of March 2013.
The exchange and the first few cabinets will either go live before December or early next year, more cabinets will then go live in the following weeks/months.
Openreach do return to areas where they have not enabled cabinets, to reassess cabinets and either enable them via infill or leave them as they are.

What does the BT checker say for your number? Does it mention FTTC? If you don't have a BT line try the address check.

Cab51 is on the corner of Norfolk Road and Borras Park Road. Alongside it is an old empty shell (cast iron variety). No sign of any FTTC activity as of lunchtime today.

BT Checker for my number mentions ADSL only with predicted speed of 2 - 5 Mbps - I sync at 4.2 Mbps with speed test results around 3.7Mbps.
Thanks,

From the DSL checker you should see something like this
"Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 31st December 2012. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of Something Mbps and upstream line speed of Something Mbps."
If you dont see that then its not a good sign

That is not strictly true, many of our local cabinets were installed in Feb/Mar/April but only started giving speed estimates a few weeks before they went live, which was May onwards. Some are still not live, but they are all now giving speed estimates.
Basically sometimes they give estimates months before, sometimes it's weeks, or anywhere in between.

I have now received an email response from a named individual with a [email protected] address.
The message was a notification stating "Your message was deleted without being read on 22 November 2012 15:34:15 UTC."
I wonder if I should I expect a more helpful response to my question regarding Cab 51 on Wrexham exchange ?
Hmmmm

Thats odd, not come across that before as the reply usualy says which cab your are on and if its in the deployment or not.

THat date is normally pretty meaningless. It basically means the exchange is planned to go live by December the 31st. They usually leave that date in place once the exchange has gone live which Wrexham I think has. When all the planned cabinets will go live is pretty much an unknow.

Further reply from Openreach today which confirms Cab 51 feeds my line, but no indication of if or when we might see FTTC:
"Thank you for your enquiry. You are connected to the Wrexham Exchange, cabinet 51.
Openreach are rolling out Fibre Broadband access to 66% of the UK by the end of November 2014, this is a complex long term project and we are still planning where the final geographical coverage will be.
I am afraid that we cannot advise if your area will be enabled at this stage, we do however update our Web-Site every quarter with our latest deployment plan.
The Web-Site can be viewed using the following link:
http://www.openreach-communications.co.uk/superfast/...
Please continue to monitor our Web-Site which will keep you up to date with our latest deployment news for your exchange, the site also contains FAQs.
Regards,"
So no present from BT in Santa's sack this year , or perhaps even next!

Well the post code spreadsheet from December 2012 here has all lines from LL127RS going to PCP 51 and PCP51 was in the roll out plan.
This is enough to be reasonably optimistic but obviously plans can change.
Is there an FTTC CAB next to PCP51 yet? Have others round about been upgraded and yours not? Have you checked the roadworks data so see if any are due? (if your local authority does this at http://roadworks.org/ )

Not sure if you're still waiting on this or not, and sorry to bump the old post (found it via google), but I am connected to the same cab and now have fibre available to me (two months after signing up with plusnet on a 12 month deal with standard as fibre wasn't available yet!).

Thanks for note.
I kept looking at ADSL checker and went onto cab51 with fibre service on September 2nd.
The Kelly engineer said I was on pair 1, so assume first on cab.
My initial profile was 75Mbps, but this dropped to 59Mbps after about 6 days - has been stable at that ever since. Line length to cabinet is 740m.
Last week a BT OR engineer said there were 22 on at present !

Fantastic. I'm about 350m from the cabinet
Got the engineer coming round on the 13th, can't wait, I've never had better than 4.5mb. Moved from Abenbury Park a couple of years ago and found fibre became available there within a couple of months of me leaving. I was so annoyed!
