BT Sales

[link to this post]
Got a call earlier today - following a letter from BT. They wanted to offer me a new contract/service level, even though my old one has not expired, at a lower cost or the chance to move from 40 to 80 ...

I had already decided what to do, but totally stymied the caller when I said I wanted to go through some "security questions". He could not answer the first three as he did not have the information made available to him. He did have enough other snippets to make e believe he was legitimate.

Should he have had more information such as my account number available? or the amount of my last bill? or my Static IP address? or my VOIP with PSTN overlay numbers? Or is it good that BT, in this case, restricts information it passes to their call centre staff? It does reduce the possibility of a leak.
