At the time we were seeing a lot of reflections back up the line from a dodgy joint on one of the d-side pairs, a special faults guy installed it to see if it would cure the issue.

I've not actually looked to see what it is yet - I'll have a look.

The NTE5 is your actual Master Socket and the filter is before that? Or you have something else as your Master Socket then the NTE5, which is what your previous message implied. Or am I reading that wrong?

My master socket is the NTE5.

THe two things though are linked. I doubt the BDUK work is having much impact at present unless BT are doing some advance work at risk,

Yeah, the NTE5 is the master, but there's an inline filter before the NTE5, I've taken some pictures:

The filter exterior
The black wire is the incoming from the DP, the white goes off to the NTE5 Master.

Filter interior
Orange/white pair going into the coil, then to the blue/brown pair to NTE5.

NTE5 with V1 ADSL faceplate
Engineer install master socket and NTE5

ECI Modem
I had to mount this, thankfully the template was accurate

Not much worse then. You will probably need a real Openreach engineer to fix the install soon.
