Ah clarity....they say a picture paints a thousand words!!

Thanks guys. I was worried that image 1 (in the adjoining room) was the master.
Ah, so the Plusnet master is somewhere else entirely?

Hi RobertoS

Well, at the moment, I'm the only one who has BE and wants to go to PN via FTTC. My brother's line is still ADSL and he is quite happy with that. So, I have the master socket in the room my router currently is (as above answers confirm), right next to the mains, so I'm happy. Mt brother is considering using wireless to connect to my 'fast' connection, should he wish to to in the future.

Does that make sense?

Best Regards

Yes. And No. And it doesn't matter. (He has a master socket as well for his line). What are you intending to do with your line rental, and who is it with now?

Don't forget to look at TopCashBack and Quidco before ordering, but if you go in through one of those to order make sure you clear coookies first.

Just in case neither of you have thought of it, when you sign up to Plusnet, if you give his Plusnet username in the referral box he gets 75p discount off his bill every time you pay your bill. I don't know if you get that box if you use a cashback site. I'd be surprised.

Also - a broadband cease on his line might cost about £30. I haven't checked if PN charge it, but most ISPs do. They get charged it by Openreach you see. (Possibly through BT Wholesale).

Thanks RobetoS. We both have BT lines and I'll probably get PN Unlimited plus Phone and he may in the future get PN phone. We did know about referrals...thanks.
