Exchange accepting orders but RFS pushed back

The Newport Isle of Wight exchange recently changed from Coming Soon to Accepting Orders on the Openreach site, around a month in advance of the original RFS date of 31/12/2012.

Shortly after this, every postcode I've tried seemed to have it's RFS date pushed back to 31/03/2013.

What's going on here? Is this common practice? I've heard talk of a few existing BTB customers being able to order Infinity, but you obviously cannot place an order if it says it's not available yet.

Is this BT offering preference to their existing customers to give it a test run first or are they simply pre-emptively accepting orders over the phone?

BT will not offer it to their customers first. All ISPs can offer it at exactly the same time as they get the same information from BT OR.

However, some ISPs are a lot slower than BT Retail in getting their act together and data base updated.

And remember, it only needs one cabinet to be operational to allow orders on te exchange - have you tried a postcode for every cabinet?

Try again in a day or two and you will find that you could place an order
