Your not checking very well:

Address 1 MANSVID AVENUE, PORTSMOUTH, PO6 2LX on Exchange COSHAM is served by Cabinet 7

Available Products

Featured Products
WBC FTTC Up to 59.1 Up to 18 -- Available
WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 17 -- 10 to 19.5 Available
WBC ADSL 2+ Annex M Up to 17 Up to 1.5 10 to 19.5 Available
ADSL Max Up to 7.5 -- 6.5 to 8 Available
WBC Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available

The trick in this case was the Cosham is listed in the December 2011 leaked spreadsheet, I just check an address for each cabinet, making sure that postcode had 100% coverage for that cabinet, I tried PCP 9,8 and got successful on PCP 7 smile

PCP 65 (1 PO168DX) and PCP 62 (Flat 57 PO64TF) are live and I really should be doing other things

I kid you not this changed overnight, noticed this when just about to hit the order button on Virgin cable, decided to check with Sky and fttc is available at my postcode, checked Plusnet and fttc is available at my postcode smile.

I'm at cabinet 55 which is right at the edge of the cosham exchange boundary or so I've been told, just need to decide between BT or plusnet, any advice ? smile

Am so happy smile

That was lucky, Virgin have a bad reputation for network congestion.

I would say Plusnet, but then I would as I'm with them and have been since 2003. I'm paying £30.48 for 80/20 unlimited (£19.99) and line rental (£10.49 per month line rental saver) with free evening and weekend calls.

I actually pay less than that, as off of that I get my referral discounts - PM me if you'd like to know more wink

I tossed up between BT and Plusnet when moving from FTTC with IDNet. Very early days for FTTC >> FTTC migrations.

In the end the denseness of the BT Sales people on the phone compared to the thinking Plusnet ones made my mind up. I haven't regretted it at any stage.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I know it's not on your list, but I would recommend Sky.

Cheapest, most reliable (In my opinion, as well as the millions already on sky, they are the 3rd largest ISP in the UK last I checked, and are gaining more and more market share each day).

My Broadband Speed Test
60db Attenuation

Thanks Dave, I did look at sky but for the first time ever it looks like I'm going to be able to get something toward the top speed available for fttc (we'll see what the reality is). With this in mind and a family of 5 we're going for the 80/20 package, sky were more expensive than plusnet, there have been capacity issues reported about sky broadband recently and sky are quite draconian about having to use their router. If I'm honest the decision was mainly cost as I already spend enough with sky for tv, plusnet were best priced + 6months half price + being able to beta discount by paying line rental in advance + £38 quidco. I had sky bb before and was happy, left because of their 0870/0845 charges at the time.
