Can anyone help with the on ongoing question of what cabinets are being updated? I am on Paignton exchange, cabinet 17. I have looked around by putting postcodes into the checker for Paignton area and so far have only found 2 cabinets showing ready from Dec 13. Obviously not mine! Any help would be appreciated

There is no list, however this method of checking seems to work quite well.
1. Use the address checker - https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/pls/adsl/ADSLChecker.a... - Only insert the postcode here and hit proceed. It will then offer you a more specific address. From this, it will tell you the cabinet number.
2. Go to the postcode checker - https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/pls/adsl/ADSLChecker.p... - Insert the same postcode as before. Here it will tell you the date that FTTC will be available.
It does seem to be accurate as using this same method in an area where FTTC has been enabled at the exchange but selecting a cabinet that has no works carried out shows on both checkers that there is no date for fibre.
Its a bit long winded way, but its worked for me.

Using the Openreach checker may help as well.
For instance Cab 4 at TQ3 3AG has a marker giving why it is delayed.
Likewise for Cab 38 at TQ3 1BT.
Try with your postcode and others around you.
Otherwise find the cabs that are close to you and check postcodes by them, you may also be able to see the new FTTC cabs next to the old ones.

Cab 17 has been pulled from the roll-out plan

Thanks Ribble. Any ideas why and when the next rollout would be?

I heard it was because no suitable location for the cabinet could be found. If do, then its likely to be on hold/stopped indefinitely

Only 1 new exchange this week, but not on the list in december as it is a Wales BDUK site.
Bangor (N Wales).
So still 66 Exchanges enabled from 158 forecast in Dec for Jan to Mar, 92 to go.
But this brings the total to 1376 Exchanges with FTTC/P available at some locations.

Are the BDUK and commercial exchanges separated by any marker etc

19 new exchanges last week (13/03/13) and another 8 this week.
So now 93 from 158 forecast for Dec to mar 2013. 65 to do in two weeks to hit the forecast looks increasingly likely to fall short.
New exchanges are
13/03/13 ABERDEEN NORTH, ABERDEEN WEST, AINTREE, Bedale, Bishop Monkton, BULWELL, FAWLEY, GLASGOW KIRKINTILLOCH
GOSPORT, HENBURY, HIGHCLIFFE, HORSELEY FIELDS, LONGFORD
PIPERS POOL, POULTON; LANCASHIRE, ROTHERHAM, SHEPHERDS BUSH, ST MABYN, ST.MERRYN.
19/03/13 CHRISTCHURCH DORSET, COVENT GARDEN, HUYTON, MERSTHAM, SLEAFORD, SUTTON IN ASHFIELD, THORNE, WHITTLESEY.
I will look back at the historic files to see how many exchanges have been done that were not on the end of Dec 2012 forecast later, as there appear to be some that were not on the commercial forecast but are now live.!
Now checked the detail against the 19/12/12 coming soon list.
Of the 158 forecast for Dec to March 65 have been enabled.
Of the 75 Forecast for April to June 20 have been enabled early
9 have been enabled that were not forecast on the 19/12/12 list!
Of the 9 one is clearly a BDUK Wales site at Bangor and one is the FTTP fibre only exchange at Deddington.

I can personally confirm Sleaford is now accepting orders Installation set for April 4th. Don't know about the others, but we went from 'Future Exchange' straight to 'Accpeting Orders' rather than coming soon. Was actually able to order as of last week though no cabinets currently show any of the posters. Imagine that will change soon though!

You'll never guess where I live...! Where abouts are you? I'm on Deira Close and get an estimate of 71Mbps. The Fibre cab is on Town Road, next to the entrance to the Chartdale Estate.

37 new exchanges this week 27/03/13.
So 130 completed in the three months, against 158 forecast, however a significant number were not forecast for these 3 months!.
Now 1440 exchange in total have some cabinets enabled.
Detail against the 19/12/12 list.
Of the 158 forecast for Dec to March 78 have been enabled.
Of the 75 Forecast for April to June 31 have been enabled early
22 have been enabled that were not forecast on the 19/12/12 list!
This shows LOTs of churn in the list, just under 50% of those forecast by the 3 months were completed BUT 82% of the forecast numbers were completed!
There are lots of new/updated lists this week. I will hold the coming soon list for future reference. There is also a NEW Under evaluation list with 307 exchanges in, all bar 1 in Wales and that 1 right on the border so likely to have customers in Wales.
On the updated coming soon list are 90 for June 13 (incl last 4 for march) with a sprinkling of BDUK sites and 144 for sep 13 with significant number of these are BDUK sites
Detail is at Openreach site

My exchange Cosham is showing as accepting orders but I've been unable to find one postcode or telephone number in the exchange area (using local business telephone number and postcodes). Is there any benefit for BT to say an exchange is ready when in reality it is not ?
^^^^ I acknowledge that there might be one or two cabinets they're taking orders for that I've not found, just think it's poor that all tests I've tried for postcodes to the near, middle and extreme north, south, east and west of the exchange all show the same expected between March and June estimate.

Your not checking very well:
Address 1 MANSVID AVENUE, PORTSMOUTH, PO6 2LX on Exchange COSHAM is served by Cabinet 7
Available Products
Featured Products
WBC FTTC Up to 59.1 Up to 18 -- Available
WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 17 -- 10 to 19.5 Available
WBC ADSL 2+ Annex M Up to 17 Up to 1.5 10 to 19.5 Available
ADSL Max Up to 7.5 -- 6.5 to 8 Available
WBC Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
Fixed Rate 2 -- -- Available
The trick in this case was the Cosham is listed in the December 2011 leaked spreadsheet, I just check an address for each cabinet, making sure that postcode had 100% coverage for that cabinet, I tried PCP 9,8 and got successful on PCP 7
PCP 65 (1 PO168DX) and PCP 62 (Flat 57 PO64TF) are live and I really should be doing other things

I kid you not this changed overnight, noticed this when just about to hit the order button on Virgin cable, decided to check with Sky and fttc is available at my postcode, checked Plusnet and fttc is available at my postcode .
I'm at cabinet 55 which is right at the edge of the cosham exchange boundary or so I've been told, just need to decide between BT or plusnet, any advice ?
Am so happy

That was lucky, Virgin have a bad reputation for network congestion.
I would say Plusnet, but then I would as I'm with them and have been since 2003. I'm paying £30.48 for 80/20 unlimited (£19.99) and line rental (£10.49 per month line rental saver) with free evening and weekend calls.
I actually pay less than that, as off of that I get my referral discounts - PM me if you'd like to know more

I tossed up between BT and Plusnet when moving from FTTC with IDNet. Very early days for FTTC >> FTTC migrations.
In the end the denseness of the BT Sales people on the phone compared to the thinking Plusnet ones made my mind up. I haven't regretted it at any stage.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I know it's not on your list, but I would recommend Sky.
Cheapest, most reliable (In my opinion, as well as the millions already on sky, they are the 3rd largest ISP in the UK last I checked, and are gaining more and more market share each day).

Thanks Dave, I did look at sky but for the first time ever it looks like I'm going to be able to get something toward the top speed available for fttc (we'll see what the reality is). With this in mind and a family of 5 we're going for the 80/20 package, sky were more expensive than plusnet, there have been capacity issues reported about sky broadband recently and sky are quite draconian about having to use their router. If I'm honest the decision was mainly cost as I already spend enough with sky for tv, plusnet were best priced + 6months half price + being able to beta discount by paying line rental in advance + £38 quidco. I had sky bb before and was happy, left because of their 0870/0845 charges at the time.
