RFS DEC13 cab in 3mnths! Now the PCP being replaced

Hi,

Has anyone seen this before or are us poor souls in the Milton Keynes backwaters the only victims.

We now have a two cabs which have been installed but activation has been delayed . One in particular has as RFS of Dec 2013. We did probe further but got advised 'if it says Dec 2013 it's Dec 2013' without any further explanation.

We have now seen street works requests which indicate that the two PCP's associated with the aforementioned FTTC cabs will be replaced.

Is this routine - because I've not seen it before - or is this a last ditch attempt to get the FTTC cab to pass testing.

There's been two or three near me where Openreach have replaced the PCP's after the FTTC cabinet was placed because there wasn't enough room to install the tie-ins to the cab.

Yep, it's normal. Loads around our area have had the PCPs replaced.

Thanks for the response. We've got away with probably 200 cabs and only observed this for two cabs. We're doing well considering we have the non standard sunken PCP (PCP in a chamber) scenario which didn't prove that much of a challenge to OR.

Anyway, we are looking forward to a further 15+ cabs from end of March. Then we believe the FTTP to a further 2500+ homes will start. Which pretty much completes the hood 75,000 - 90,000 homes (of which 13,000 are FTTP).

Apart from new build from 2009-2011... Which are proving to be a right pain in the ar**. New build with planning permission from 2012 onwards are sweet - FTTP or bust - eg you no fibre you no talkie planning permission girlfriend.
