My speed has gone down by 2 meg in 2 days. was 68.5 mb/s, now it is 66.25 mbits. Not that I'm too bothered about it, but just to be clear in my mind what could be the reason/s? Thanks
That doesn't sound as serious as whatever is upsetting the OP's line. It is in fact quite normal as more users are added to your cabinet frown. They all interfere a little with each other and you.

It may be worth turning your Openreach modem off for a couple of minutes one day, somewhere between 10am and 2am is probably best at this time of year. Then see how things are afterwards. If the speed is better, good smile. If they are slightly worse, don't do it again until the next day.

Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Do you really need to keep quoting the entire previous post, I think not.

@RobertoS

Alright Thanks. I've only been on Fibre for 2 days, and though I understand 10 days period is not strictly a requisite on Fibre, I'm nonetheless going to wait for a few days before tinkering with the modem. One question, does disconnecting/reconnecting ppp session on the TG582N router has any effect on the sync speed?

In which case it is probably just the settloing in period that does occur.

As you say, the 10 days is basically a fiction, especially on FTTC, but most lines seem to slow down a little soon after first connection. What was your estimate?

Disconnecting and reconnecting the PPP session shouldn't affect the sync speed at all. But one or two people say in their case it did/does. Are you on Plusnet looking to hop between gateways?

Yes on Plusnet, currently on gateway pcl-ag08.

Estimate was 62 meg, curent line speed 71 meg, speed on install was 68.25 here, and speed now on speedtest.net is 66.25 down, 17.66 up.

I did hop the gateway yesterday by dis/reconnecting ppp session, and seen the reduction in speed, hence the query.
