BT or TalkTalk for fibre install and service??

Hi

Am awaiting FTTC with a bit of luck end of April .

While waiting am trying to narrow down the various packages and suppliers.

I am with Talk Talk at the moment who have been fine even though I am around 0.8mb speed wise

Has anyone any opinions/experience on the two suppliers for the fibre install good or bad and if BT might be worth the extra money??

Would BT likely be quicker install date maybe??

( don't have a master socket /iplate if that makes any difference to fitting)

Any particular reason why you are restricting yourself to BT and Talk Talk?

PlusNet were 3rd on list but kinda tempted with You view box packages also.

PlusNet are kinda BT anyway now aren't they but possibly not so direct a service??

Plusnet is as much a direct service as BT

Plusnet - BT Wholesale - Openreach who run the FTTC kit
Infinity - BT Wholesale - Openreach who run the FTTC kit
TalkTalk - TalkTalk Network - Openreach who run the FTTC kit

It is openreach who normally control the appointment window as it is their engineer who attends to activate the FTTC service.

Yes, I guess Youview could swing it. Andrew's answered the other bit, no real difference dealing with Plusnet or BT (Infinity) except that with Plusnet you're guaranteed to speak to someone in the UK

OK didn't realise PlusNet had UK only call centres , that's a big plus for them then.

There may or may not be a delay after the exchange starts taking orders while TT arrange their connection to the Openreach FTTC equipment. That may be irrelevant if your cab dosnt go live when the exchange starts taking orders

Talk Talk seem to be a bit slow at offering fibre. Round my way TT started offering fibre 7 months after BT and Sky.

Looks like it could be down to BT and PlusNet ... Also Tv or not will decide between them ..

I'm with TalkTalk and would recommend them, the YouView box and their Fibre is great!
