SamKnows show FTTC available but ISP checker says no

I'm a bit confused why SamKnows site show's FTTC available and the exchange 'Lea Valley' is enabled for FTTC but when I enter the details for our line and postcode on the BT checker it says it's not available. Anyone know why this is happening? Is the BT checker always right?

it's part of the ordering system I suspect, samknows is just saying it's on your exchange - a single cabinet would meet that criteria.

If it's wrong an ISP needs to get it sorted for you. What does the BT availability chekcer say for your number ?

The BT checker says not available - I've done the exchange mapping on SamKnows and it's 2KM away. How do I find out where the cabinet would be for FTTC and how far away it is?

If you put your telephone number in to the BT wholesale checker it will tell you which cabinet you are connected to - after that its a case of going out and looking (or using google maps)

Still worth finding the cabinet, as you can then see if any work is going on, i.e. you might be in the next phase of roll-out

So it says served by cabinet 42. How do I find that cabinet?

Well you could try and go outside and start walking round the local area looking for a green cabinet on the side of the road/on pavement/on verge hopefully with the number 42 still visible on it...................

You can post your postcode and users on here can find your cabinet for you.
