The Warwickshire project has released their June newsletter, containing a lot of information now they've signed the BDUK contract, but (as usual) the detail goes beyond the norm.
A few interesting snippets:
- 91% was their SFBB coverage target, but they now indicate 93% will have fibre, so 2% are too far to get SFBB speeds.
- Being done as almost entirely FTTC
- 96% of premises are within 1km of their cabinet. It isn't clear if that is 96% of cabinet-fed lines only, or 96% of all lines in the county.
- One of the possible solutions for EO lines is FTTPoD. If that is a valid statement, then it indicates that BT will, sometime in the next 3 years, open up FTTPoD to areas outside the cabinets with FTTC.
