Build 1 concrete chamber?

FTTC has come to my exchange. I have noticed 4 new small fttc cabs have already been installed locally within the last fortnight. My cab has yet to be done. But,checking on http://roadworks.org/ It is showing that BT will be doing work this week directly across the road from my cab. The info on roadworks.org states:
"Description : Build 1 concrete chamber 2315mm x 737mm x 1565mm deep in Footway,Install 2m of 2 poly ducts in Footway,Install 4m of 2 poly ducts in Carriageway"
Could this be for FTTC for my cab? The concrete chamber seems large?

The chamber works are usually for the aggregation node, with the FTTC cab connecting to a fibre via that chamber, then in future if anyone orders Fibre On Demand it will be fed from that chamber.

So not unlike http://www.coolwebhome.co.uk/fibre-milton-keynes/wgc... when its completed.

That chamber is from an FTTP area so shows more kit than yours probably will start off with.

Gas detectors are quite normal. Around the UK there are thousands of gas leaks at any time - some very minor but if it slowly seeps out and the path through the ground end up near a BT duct of chamber then it will fill it. You will often see a chamber with teh covers pulled off by an inch or two and surrounded by barriers to help vent the ducts.

I think any "kids" messing about in BT footway/carriageway boxes should be warned against it, around here BT have pressed the police to immmediately get helocopters on the case when they know those things are being messed around with, because of the obvious copper theft. That might be on the decline now, but a "kid" wanting to mess about with fibre trays in nodes might find him or herself the unsuspecting target of quite an operation, should luck not go their way. Even if it does and none of that applies, it surely won't work anyway. Just changing the colour of the trays won't alter OR's schematics, because they won't know about it, and so it won't be possible to achieve a service. The people who see the colour of the trays in the foot/carriageway boxes don't decide what service you can or can't order in the first place.
